What is a “Broker/Dealer”? The answer to that is very simple. A “Broker/Dealer” is a firm that oversees the activities of investment professionals, like us, to ensure that their clients, or in other words, your best interests are being met. By federal regulation an investment professional must be affiliated with an independent Broker/Dealer, however the investment professionals have the choice to affiliate themselves with any Broker/Dealer of their choosing. It is as simple as that.
More importantly, working with an Independent Broker/Dealer means, at Gallagher Financial Services, we have the freedom to choose from many different types of investments from many different Fund Families; In order to create the most efficient strategy to achieve the short term and long term financial goals that you set before us. This sets us apart from a “Brokerage Firm”, which does not have the freedom to select outside of their firms products. At a Brokerage Firm they can only sell what the firm tells them to, greatly restricting that strategies that they are able to create for you.
